I just make text posts about one direction and larry Stylinson and I guess people like me so they follow. & I don't reccomend doing follow back, only follow back if you like the blog.

oh yeah and being friends with people is how you can get followers.
i'm sooo close to 1,000.
It has took 9 months to reach 800 followers for me, but if you're a quality blog (you just post like girls and hipster stuff) you can get like 1,000 in like 2 months because there are like 1087239812734278915623784 quality blogs. there aren't many anime blogs.
