I remember this scene!
If Gale came up to me and said, "You and I could do it. Run away leave this all behind. Lets leave this district now. With Katniss, Peeta, Katniss's family and my family." I would be like, "Okay in a few seconds let me grab my stuff and lets get out of here!" XD
